At Sol-Duc River Lodge

  The Steelhead fishing season on many of the Olympic Peninsula's coastal rivers is open eleven months of the year, however the prime times are late November through April for our "Winter-run" Steelhead and mid July through September for our "Summer-run" Steelhead.
  The biggest of the big, the true trophy Steelhead start to show up in the later part of January and remain in this regions rivers until mid April.

  There's Steelhead fishing and then there's Steelhead fishing. Out here on on our Olympic Peninsula rivers a 17lb Steelhead that would normally elicit a response of stunned amazement any where else in the world would probably receive a response along the lines of "oh that's a nice one". Yes you could say we are a bit jaded about our Steelhead fishing here at Sol-Duc River Lodge. There are only two regions in the world where Steelhead routinely attain the enormous proportions that surpass the 20lb mark, one is the Kamchatka region of Russia and the other is a geographically small area of the Pacific Northwest. Sol-Duc River Lodge is located on the banks of it's name sake, the Sol-Duc (Soleduck) River,  right in the heart of Washington's famous Olympic Peninsula.  
 Here 20 lb+ Steelhead ascend the coastal rivers every season, many passing right by our deck overlooking the Sol-Duc River.
